Waterwell

Waterwell drilling requires products that can effectively maintain the integrity of the wellbore under a wide range of drilling conditions.  The waterwell industry also requires products that are simple to use, that will not damage the aquifer and are easily removed upon well completion.

Any product that is used to drill a waterwell must be safe for contact with drinking water.  For this reason, M-I Swaco offers a number of NSF-certified products.  These include Max Gel, Poly-Plus, Polypac and Platinum Pac additives.

Max Gel viscosifier is a high-yeild bentonite that is very easy to mix.  Its rapid hydration reduces downtime.  Its ability to quickly provide viscosity and suspension properties makes it ideal for use in waterwells without sophisticated mixing equipment.

Platinum Pac additive is a readily dispersible Pac specially designed for easy mixing.  It enhances the filtration control properties of a Max Gel slurry and also helps stabilise problem shales.

Poly-Plus additive aids in inhibiting the swelling tendencies of reactive clays and shales.

After the well is drilled, the aquifier must be properly sealed from surface contamination.  A complete line of NSF-certified plugs and grouts are also available in ADG Global Supply's M-I SWACO range.
